Russian-speaking Houston: groceries, food & cultural resources
By Oksana Bogott, REALTOR® · Updated November 3, 2026
Familiar food and a conversation in your preferred language can help a new city feel familiar. Houston’s Russian-speaking community includes different histories, cuisines and traditions from across the former Soviet Union. A store or shared language does not determine where you should choose to live.
Russian General Store / General Store
9629 Hillcroft St, Houston, TX 77096
A southwest Houston grocery stop listed by a food supplier. Ask the shop directly about current imported products, prepared foods and holiday orders.
Arbat Market
620 Katy Fort Bend Rd, Suite 320, Katy, TX 77494
An Eastern European market in Katy. The name is Arbat, sometimes mistyped as “Rabat.” The location is cross-checked in public map listings; no current business-owned website was independently verified.
Ararat International Supermarket
2111 Spring Cypress Rd, Suite 110, Spring, TX 77388
An international grocery/deli resource in Spring with European and Caucasus-region products. This link is a directory, not the business’s official website. Confirm the address, hours and current assortment directly before visiting.
Foreign Grill
401 Franklin St, Houston, TX 77002 · POST Houston
A family-run food-hall restaurant with Uzbek, Central Asian and Eastern European influences. Use the official menu for current dishes and prices; the current location is POST Houston, not an older food-hall address.
Cultural Center — Our Texas
2337 Bissonnet St, Houston, TX 77005
The center publishes art, music and cultural programming and Russian-language classes for children and adults. Check its own calendar for registration, age groups and event language.
Phoenicia Specialty Foods
Downtown & Westheimer markets
A broader international-food option, not a specifically Russian store. Its official locations page also links to Arpi’s Deli, prepared food and grocery services.
Finding services in Russian
For a physician, attorney, CPA, inspector, insurer or contractor, first check the relevant license and scope, then consultation language and written fees. A group-chat recommendation does not replace a contract, insurance or independent verification. Unverified professional names are not listed here.
Community connections
I’m proud to be part of a community with roots in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Armenia and other countries. Shared words and familiar recipes can begin a conversation; getting to know one another goes much further. “Let’s Meet with Oksana Bogott” is one way to make connections.
